I am anti war (which doesn't mean I'm pro Saddam) but I must say that as I watched Hardtalk this evening, where Tim Sebastian interviewed a Kurdish woman I was pretty sick (I didn't / couldn't? watch the whole show) hearing about the atrocities commited in Iraq. It's not that I haven't heard about these atrocities before, but watching someone describe it - the body language, the expression, the look in the eyes - says more than simple words can convey.

So now I say Saddam MUST go ! And if war is the means, the do go to war, BUT make sure you get Saddam (and no / minimum collateral damage). Try him for all the crimes and make him die a SLOW and painful death. No simple exile for him. If Bush is comitting to make the man pay for his crimes, then Bush, you'd better do it quick.

And then go after the next despot. I'll be convinced about the genuiness of the US intentions then.

Bungler, that has been my point all along. I agree I will not be satisfied with any unfinished work. You are completely right.

Thanks, Sharon.

Hi Gees - what's up? Ready to come back and write for us? :-)

Haven't yet read the articles from those links. Will do it now.

But tell me one thing, off-topic perhaps...

What if Saddam agrees and destroys the Samoud missiles? ... he will then be in full compliance. Is the war still on even then?

Posted by: Sameer on February 28, 2003 05:58 AM

No - he is not in compliance even if he destroys the missiles. The missiles are the least of UN/US' worries. He admitted after the first Gulf War to having huge reserves of Anthrax, Sarin and other biological and chemical weapons. He hasn't shown a single shred of evidence that those have been destroyed. That is very important, before he is declared to be in compliance.

That, and there is always the question of his nuclear capabilities. No one know exactly how far along he had come in his quest for nuclear weapons.

Ahh!... I see. Ok!
