So, finally, blogging has reached the critical mass required for rampant narcissism. Bloggers can’t seem to stop talking about it. And hey, two days ago, I heard the word four times in a single newscast!! GWII was referred to as the first “blog-war”. Damn.

“narcissism”? this is supposed to be more like a venue for people to discover new bloggers - or bloggers that they have never read before. What is wrong with that?
Of course, if you are jealous that we are marginally more famous, we can understand ;-)

First-time blog-reader here… Read USA Today (a few days late) where “blogging” is the raw stuff of the current GW. Playing catch-up and caught you. From what I can tell, I prefer short blogging to the “scan down to there” verbosity. When it’s applicable, I’ll find a line or two to grab onto. Otherwise, who has the time to read it all? Meanwhile, KISS principle will be the one I cling to. So, blog on — short, sweet, and to the point.

Thanks, Safe - I usually post short posts, and hide the extended rants as much as possible - I am glad you are here and hope you will come back. I love hearing from people with all kinds of view points - makes for a good discussion :-)

no jealousy, m’am. none at all. and i have nothing against using a spot on the web as a map to other blogs/bloggers etc.
what i am trying to say is that blogging (as opposed to using newsgroups, forums etc) is that it is inherently personal. much akin to a diary posted on the web (24hr webcams in prose, sometimes poetry). now, add to it the fact that a lot of blogs i have read thus far talk a lot about blogging in itself (self referential, like CNN continuously going on about how cool its own coverage was). Therefore, narcissism.

It is true, I agree - some times people do tend to self-aggrandize their achievements too much - it is however noteworthy how much more the bloggers are able to do with how little resources they really have.
