Fareed Zakaria

This article was fascinating to me not just because I liked Zakaria's columns, but also because I was totally unaware of his Indian heritage. That caught me by surprise. Dean, I so relate to him, because I would be labeled a leftie-liberal in India because of my thoughts and view-points, but I was surprised to find that in the US, I was considered conservative. Thanks for the interesting post.

Thanks for pointing to the bio of Zakaria. I’m a huge fan of us, and like yourself, knew little or nothing about him beyond his rather astute observations. I hadn’t been able to decide if he was conservative or liberal, but I decided quickly on that I agreed with much of what he had to say. It’s embarrassing to find myself a groupie at this age, but I am indeed his avid fan.

You are welcome, I like Mr. Zakaria’s columns a lot too and I had no idea about half the stuff in the bio :)

And chicks dig him. :-)

Not bad for a policy wonk. Hey, I work in insurance. Do I have a chance?

LOL, Niraj - I think you need a few more columns in your name before you can Zakaria-sell yourself, I think ;)

After all, what is Fareed zakaria but a mere scribbler!

I, on the other hand, can offer a woman the most important thing there is: the beautiful symmetery of auto, house and life coverage.

Can Mr. Zakaria offer that? I doubt it.

Oh sure, he is smart, sophisticated, and quite the charmer from what I’ve read, but can he do insurance. Not like I can.

I once asked some seer: what do women want?

And he said, without blinking an eye: insurance.

And here I am.

Niraj - is that what you wrote in your letters to Aishwarya Rai? No wonder she broke up with Salman :)

Fareed is a great wine writer.
