It wasn’t that - a guy who almost completely handled all the work on a major client (who of course, uses every kind of technology available on earth - ASP, JAVA, Cold Fusion, you name it) has left the job and I am now stuck making sense of it all :(
Not saving of course, would have been worse - I guess it is a small consolation.

I know exactly what you feel. I’ve also had the pleasure of taking over the work of an entire team that quit without leaving any shred of documentation about server/app configuration and it wasn’t pretty. Spent 2-3 months just fixing all their crap.
It’s worse when they have some little hack in the code without any inline comments about what it’s supposed to be doing.
(I can recommend a ColdFusion specialist if you want. He is unbelievably knowledgeable. Over at http://ww.jeffhowden.com)
