ABCNEWS.com : Malaysian Explains Anti-Jewish Remarks - When foot gets stuck, try to back-pedal with even more stupid statements like - “But if you say anything at all against the Jews, you are accused of being anti-Semitic” - umm…the definition of anti-semitic is against Jews, moron! Of course, I bet your assertions that those damn Joos control the world and need to be defeated at all costs…

It’s a little bit much to say in one breath that Islamic countries need to modernize (as Dr Mohamed has done a million times) and then to start sounding like a paranoid dictator from 70 years ago

Exactly, Havdala - some of the things he was talking about actually made sense if he didn’t launch into those rants about Jews.

I am not sure if anit-semitic = anti-jew if you want to be pedantic. Semitic speaking people even included people from North African contries if I remember correctly.
But I think considering its Mahathir who is making all these comments I do wonder if he is simply provoking the West as he often likes to do. (remember the currency controls he imposed way back when Malaysian economy was floundering much to the chagrin of WB and IMF?)

What dismays me even more than Mahathir’s statement, Dilip - is the fact that he got a standing ovation for his remarks and the rest of the Muslim world actually supported these statements - I mean, Karzai too?

I think the whole idea of OIC is weird. During the meeting, they passed a unanimous resolution condemning the Iraqi regime change when in fact many provided support for the same (Qatar, Kuwait, etc.) Secondly, they raise a big cry saying that Muslims are oppressed throughout the world, while actually suppressing free speech, women’s rights in their own backyard. For all they idiotary, they have been blessed with amazing mineral wealth …

Happy 56th!
I enjoyed your blog. I wonder how deeply Mahathir will stick his foot in it.
I have linked to yours via Blogroll; if you’d like to link back to my blog, I’d be delighted.

MM calls for a “final victory” over the Jews… and what does CAIR do? The hypocritical bigots focus their accusations on a decorated war hero over a few questionable remarks.
Morons! MORONS!
Would America have won WWII had the Japanese-Americans behaved this way?

Gokul, outrage is fun only when it is directed outwards. I don’t think we should give CAIR the credit for actually thinking about themselves too as critically and hypersensitively they look at others.
Nah! That would require too much decency.

Now he says, he’s been misquoted by the Jewish media! Can one do anything about these guys ??
He said, “In my speech I condemned all violence, even the suicide bombings,” adding later, “but those things were blacked out in the Western media.” Then he said, referring to Jews, “The reaction of the world shows that they do control the world.”

Of course, L - because when he said that the 1.3 Billion Muslims should work together to defeat the Jews, he only meant it in the nicest way possible :smartass:

Clowns like these clowns think that by saying “I’m so sorry that what I said upset you…” instead of saying “What an ass I am for not thinking about what I say before I said it” is sufficient. What these clowns ought to say instead is that maybe the Muslims have something to learn from the Jews about acting like human beings with decency, concern for each other, and refraining from “honor” murder of their daughters. But they would rather beat their wives, gas their brothers, hump their goats and give Chirac another colonic, wouldn’t they?
