People with a weak gag reflex and relatively less tolerance for gushy, mommy-stuff need read no further ;)
I felt my baby last night!!! Yes, I did! I will be about 14 weeks along this Wednesday, so it was a real surprise to me when this happened. I had just laid down to go to sleep last night when I felt a little fluttering sensation in the left side of my stomach (I was lying on that side) - it went on for about a minute - a constant sensation of something moving within me - probably heady with the sugar rush a glass of pomegranate juice might leave you with ;)
I have to say it was an extremely amazing experience. It was something that made it very real to me that I had a living being inside of me, something that no grainy sonogram will ever match - btw, we saw the baby turning somersaults even in last week’s sonogram, so I think I have a pretty active baby on my hands (I am sure my mom can sympathize with me on this, though she probably is thinking, “payback time”). Well, that was it for now, so we can go back to our regularly scheduled happy, fun programming now.

I didn’t know you were with child! Congratulations!
First timer, too. Shouldn’t be too bad given your experience with your “other” children. :beam:

Thanks, Niraj - I forgot that I made the big announcement when you were out vacationing with your honey ;)
I put dipers on Sammy’s little butt when he was a puppy, fed him and trained him, so I guess my baby shouldn’t have too much trouble doing “sit” and “stay” by the time s/he is about 6 months old :)

I hope your joy is long-lived and the “active baby” doesn’t wear you down :beam:

Shanti,
You can start a separate baby diary if you have the time. I have came across one.

Won’t be a bad idea if you want to browse these wonderful experiences organised in one page chronically.
Hope you and your baby stay in good health and it keeps you smilling.

Thanks, anonymous :)
Patrix, there was a reason why I was dreading the Gemini baby ;)
Rezwan, that sounds like an excellent idea - I might give it a shot :)

shanti, quick question: do you feel gaggy all the time, like everything is digusting?
Posted by: mamatha at December 2, 2003 8:55 AM
Mamatha, I felt that way till a week ago, when I could not stand the sight, smell and taste of nay food, even though I was really hungry all the time. I am a little less sensitive now and feel the sickness only in the morning mostly.

Madhu, trust me - you do not want to encourage me. I am not exactly known for sappy sweet stuff, but who knows, I might start giving sugar-rush to you readers with my baby stories ;)

Shanti: This is great! Someone in comments suggested a separate blog for your baby. I think from my own experience as a father, you’ll not have time to write about anything but the baby. So, ‘Dancing with Dogs’ will turn to ‘Dancing with baby’. If you look at my blog, almost every other entry is about the baby.

LOL, Parag - for now, I am hoping to keep the baby posts to about one a week. Once things start going faster, I might have to start a separate blog for the baby things :)
