We are going to have a baby boy! He is absolutely normal and healthy as far as we could tell - weighs 373 grams and is expected into this world about May 31st :) He is very rambunctious as I can tell from all the times he keeps kicking at me from inside, so I better stock up on plenty of Ritalin (just kidding!).

Damn! I was betting on girl. Better luck next time, I guess. :tongue3:

LOL, Niraj - my gut feel has always been that it would be a boy, but I was trying extremely hard to not listen to my instinct :)
As for next time, I think we can safely say not if I have anything to say about that ;)

Patrix, why not? Submit away all suggestions for boy-baby names. That is sure to make our job easier :)

Oddly enough the last 6 babies my friends have had have been boys, and this year we have already had another 2. It must something in the water :). I was counting on someone, even if they be it “virtual” :) to me, to have a girl so that I could just have a reason to peruse the pink section at the baby store. Guess I’ll wait for your next one Shanti :). Anyway Congratulations, I pray that you have a safe delivery. Suggested Names: Wanna give us a hint of what kind of name you are looking for?

Wu-hooo! 1 more voter for getting me the $10 on Blog Mela. One more person to help me booth capture.
One suggestion I have for names is that, keep it short. Don’t keep one like mine which has half the alphabets in English Language.

Thanks, Livin’ Simple! All the pregnant women at my workplace in the last year gave birth to girls, so I kinda broke the trend there :) As for names, we are looking for something that is simple and easy to spell. It will be great to look through the suggestions.
LOL, JK - the election fraud has already begun, eh :tongue3: I agree with you about the names - my husband’s last name is Vavilapalli, so the poor kid is already stuck with enough letters in his name without us having to add more.

Congrats, Shanti! BTW, I know a guy who’s name is Z…just…Z. That short enough?
Posted by: Solomon at January 15, 2004 7:18 PM
Since I’m a V.V, and your baby is going to have the last name of V… lets try: Vijay, Varun, Vikash,
Vinay, (Is 5 letters short enough?), Vinesh. In case
you want to be adventurous and not support my cause of increasing V.V’s, my mother used to say
that names that start/contain with A & J are really
lucky?!? Though my name has none … hmmm :(.
So you could try Ananth, Ajay, Abishek, Jay, Akash.
J- Jana, Jai. My contribution - if you don’t find one you like, the least it will do is aid you in the process of eliminations. take care.

Solomon, maybe V, in keeping with livinsimple’s suggestions too ;)
I really like Vinay and Akash.

congrats shanti.. the idea of a blog named baby is great. u mst open a suggestion box and yet another gift voucher for the selected name. Try and give a unique name.. so that he can have his own name as his mail id on all web mail sites (a great reason). Like i have mine. Though not quite simple, unique and hard to forget once you master it. All in a name…

Thanks, Sk - for now, I am considering this comment thread the suggestion box - it is a good idea to reward the winning name. This is going to be good :)
