You know the drill by now, people! Send in your noms for April’s Mela - posts should be made by Indians or about India and dated March 15th - April 14th. Email them to me or just leave a comment. Remember that we cannot let the Anarchist/Capitalist/Libertarians take the Mela over again ;)

Libertarians and capitalist who havent won yet can I suppose?
People, nominate me quick
Posted by: Ravages at April 7, 2004 2:50 AM
LOL, Ravages - the “Anar/Cap/Libs” seem to have hit upon the formula to get themselves nominated every Mela :tongue3:
Posted by: Shanti at April 7, 2004 7:34 AM
Two nominations, actually.
One, the post on 31st March, “On Birthday’s”, and the other, on 17th March, which is a good bit about gambling. Both are availible on the following link.

Its not AnarCapLib, but hey, give me a chance!
Posted by: Bhavya at April 7, 2004 7:48 AM
I’m gonna take it this time for sure!
And yes, it’s going to be on AnarCapLib, just out of spite for the rest of you puny mortals!
Ravages, go home now buddy. :tongue3:
(not to Shanti: why is the “tongue sticking out with some red stuff on the head” icon labelled “mad”?)
Posted by: MadMan at April 7, 2004 2:06 PM
Good luck, MadMan! As for that smiley, I think it means mad in the sense “crazy” :)
Posted by: Shanti at April 7, 2004 6:20 PM
Why? Why?:smartass:

Bhavya, that is a TERRIBLE entry! Sounds just like a personal “blog”
Posted by: East meet West at April 8, 2004 12:45 AM
Ummm…East meet West, can you post the reviews at her blog, please?
Posted by: Shanti at April 8, 2004 6:04 AM
His, if you don’t mind.
And it is a personal blog. I didn’t realise blogs should be any less.
I mean, its quite horrid if you get all pedantic like yazad.
Posted by: Bhavya at April 8, 2004 11:19 AM
Sorry, Bhavya - my bad!

On my next visit to Delhi I think I need to disabuse Mr. Bhavya Khanna of his illusions. And well, if the AnarCapLib cartel decides to win, I don’t think pimply Punjabi lads are gonna be any competition!
Posted by: Mr. Horrid Pedantic at April 9, 2004 7:21 AM
And, on the promise of further cofee, Pedantic will have forgetfull friends to help him.

Heavens.
I apologise, dearly, Mr. Yazad for questioning your blog.
It is a herald, showing brilliant insight, and clear, consise views on our everyday life. It, not for a moment, gets too scholarly, and never bores. It is perfection in writing itself.
Now please don’t go beating up poor defenseless, no-longer-pimply Punjabi Lads. I mean, we’re in short supply these days.
Posted by: Bhavya at April 12, 2004 11:48 AM
The AnarCapLib cartel should defeat the Punjabi lad (who is not pimply any longer but is shedding hair faster than Garfield), if only because the blog posts he has nominated are thoroughly mean to Damini, who is a sweet girl.
Posted by: Aadisht Khanna at April 12, 2004 10:54 PM
Excuse me, but I was just finishing the third draft of my preliminary discussion paper on the effects of the shortage of Punjabi lads on the cultural mores of a nation in the context of unfettered globalisation when this thread came to my notice.
Bhavya, I am glad that you have seen the light. Become an Anarcaplib groupie and bask in the soft glow of the cartel’s luminescence. It won’t find you a girl, but it will improve your tolerance for boredom so that when you do find one (a girl that is,) you will survive.
We would have liked nothing better than to crush unchivalrous Punjabi lads under the Anarcaplib Juggernaut, but the fact that we haven’t posted anything of note in the past month may be a problem (or it may not. We will just nominate something and let our rigging skills do the rest)
And by the way, soon (i.e. in this financial year) I will be relaunching my blog. It will be only Caplib and Yazad will be left holding the pineapple. Then we will be unstoppable. Be very afraid.
Posted by: Ravikiran at April 13, 2004 4:22 AM
I suppose only South Indians can confuse pinapples with pomegranates
Posted by: Yazad at April 13, 2004 12:45 PM
First the cartel takes over the Mela - then they take over the comments section - soon they will be taking over my blog….
Posted by: Shanti at April 13, 2004 3:43 PM
Pineapples.
Shanti, that wouldn’t be the end of your misery at all. Wait till the cartel takes over the entire blog-o-sphere.
Posted by: Ravages at April 13, 2004 11:36 PM
Sarcasm, obviously, isn’t one of the skills AnarCapLib posseses.
Ah, well, such is life.
Posted by: Bhavya at April 14, 2004 1:00 AM
Pineapples.
That’s right Ravages, you tell him how it’s spelt!
Incidentally…
And, on the promise of further cofee, Pedantic will have forgetfull friends to help him.
“Coffee” and “forgetful” are the respective correct spellings.
ROFLMAO.
The cartel strikes again!
Posted by: MadMan at April 14, 2004 1:06 AM
Bhavya,
I suppose so. But unfortunately, none of the good jokes about the shortage of punjabi lads I could think of could actually be made. They would be genuinely offensive.

On a separate note, I’m nominating the following two entries:

:(
Me and my big, fast typing fingers.
Sorry about those typos.
Posted by: Ravages at April 14, 2004 9:59 PM
BTW - I see there are more self nominations. Hmmm. Why didnt I think of that myself?
Posted by: Ravages at April 14, 2004 10:00 PM
Ravages, there is still a little time before I put up the Mela :)
Posted by: Shanti at April 15, 2004 6:22 AM
:beam:
Nah. Better glory if someone nominates me.
I shall pass this time. And let the others win. ;)

I would like to nominate this attempt of mine to start a desi Onion -
