Wow!

I am in awe! I don’t know if I would do that if I got into the kind of situation described below. Now, that is what being a real mother is, I think.

And kept me gulping my own saliva for the next 2 minutes….just reading it!

I agree, pseudofreud! That is some dedication this woman had towards her baby to have risked her life like that for the baby’s safety. I wonder how many others would be capable of even entertaining such a thought…especially in an age where getting rid of babies fetuses is looked upon as an inalienable right.

ewww.. it gave me knots in my stomach. But then I know an Indian woman who was mistakenly locked into the bathroom by her 2 year old who later didnt know how to open the latch from outside. There was no one else in the house. She kept banging the door from inside with whatever she could find. Finally she broke open the lower part of the somewhat rotting door with her bare hands and slid out from under it with her hand and her back badly scratched. She happens to be a frail woman but showed a lot of courage and determination. Mothers are like that, wired genetically to protect their kids :)

I agree, Sanjay - I keep going back to the saying, “The most dangerous place on earth is between a mother and her child”.
