Censorship?

Ok, here it goes - Linda Ronstadt, Michael Moore, Whoopi Goldberg, et al? Your First Amendment rights only guarantee that the Government cannot persecute or prosecute you for your views. The amendment does not guarantee continued employment or freedom from criticism for the views expressed. You have the freedom to shoot your mouths off and your employers have the freedom to fire you. It is not censorship!

Get it?

People go to Vegas to be entertained. If they boo you off stage, management clearly has the right not to put you back on that stage again.

It reminds me of Amateur Night at the Apollo. If the audience boos you, the Sandman comes out with his hook and drags you off the stage. Does that mean censorship? No way. The people have spoken. It sounds like democracy to me!

True. Freedom of speech does not extend to private property.

Morons.

(and I’m an anti-Bush guy!)

I didnt see where whoopi goldberg said it was censorship or unfair. (atleast not in the link u have provided.) on the other hand i read (in time .. was it?) that she was dissapointed .. nothing more. which is okay.

Lol .. “For you to throw Linda Ronstadt off the premises because she dared to say a few words in support of me and my film, is simply stupid and Un-American.” I simply loved this …. this is same as Bush saying “If you disagree with my policies .. you are un-american, you are not patriotic”.

America’s heart and soul is freedom of expression without fear of reprisal, I find all this feigned indignation about ‘Bush bashing’ quite disingenuous. For the Republican Party to pretend this is new to them seems a little fake,” the report quoted her as saying.
