Is this for real?

Riiight, Sharon! We believe ya! I bet it was that same conservative climate that brought in $100+ million to “Farenheit 911”. Why don’t you just go back to uncrossing your legs and leave political point-making to those who are good at it?

IOL: Stone wanted to kiss Berry in Catwoman
Sharon Stone blames US President George W Bush for the absence of a lesbian kissing scene in Catwoman - because of the current conservative climate in America.

Basic Instinct star Stone, 46, was keen to enjoy an intimate moment with Oscar-winning co-star Halle Berry, but believes a puritanical streak running through the country put an end to any potential girl-on-girl action.

Stone says: “Halle’s so beautiful and I wanted to kiss her. I said, ‘How can you have us in the movie and not have us kiss? That’s such a waste.’

“That’s what you get for having George Bush as president.”

When you said, “Riiight, Sharon” I thought you meant Ariel Sharon. Shows how out of it I am.

Sharon Stone kissing Halle Berry is kind of hot, though. Ariel Sharon and Halle Barry, not so much.

Moe, Ariel & Halle? That is not a good visual at all :tongue3:

It’s a good thing actresses have scriptwriters - look what happens when they speak ‘off the cuff.’

Anyways, who is this Sharon Stone?

If John Kerry is elected will I get to kiss Halle Berry?

I might change my vote after all.

Hehehe

MD, I guess this is Sharon Stone’s way of “drumming up” some publicity to resurrect her umm…sagging career…

John, I think that is the way to go - “Vote Kerry! Kiss Berry!” :tongue3:

Hmm.. Catwoman costs $90 million, gets panned by the critics. Harold and Kumar Go to White Castle costs $9 million, and gets pretty good reviews. Who needs over the hill stars like Stone? BTW - Harold and Kumar had me laughing my head off. One of the smartest dumb movies in awhile.

No, this is not guerilla marketing.

KXB, I heard good things about the “Harold and Kumar…” movie too. I plan to check it out on DVD.

I too thought that it was Ariel Sharon. Sharon Stone had complete slipped out of my frarme of reference. I didn’t even know that she was still “There”.
thanx for blogrolling me. the url seems to point to a dead link
Vote Kerry, Kiss Berry line - ROTFL - maybe u should get some bumper stickers made:beam:

Posted by: Harini Calamur at August 4, 2004 10:46 AM

Harini, that is how aging actresses try to become relevant - creating controversy. Blondness seems to have seeped too much into Sharon Stone’s brain and she cannot even manage that.

As for the link, sorry for the oops - I fixed it now :)

Shanti, it appears to me that it was just a casual quip than a serious political statement. The reporter seems to made all the inferences himself than quote Stone directly.

Posted by: MadMan at August 5, 2004 5:56 AM

That doesn’t matter, MadMan. Anyone making even a joke about the great Bush draws Shanti’s ire. :tongue3:

Posted by: Gaurav at August 5, 2004 7:36 AM

MadMan, even for a quip, I thought her quotes were quite stupid since I could see no relation between her wanting to kiss Halle Berry and George Bush being President.

Gaurav, if she had said something that made sense I wouldn’t have said a damn thing. I am irritated by mind-numbingly dumb people trying to act all smart by making connections that don’t exist. Whew! :nice:

Posted by: Shanti at August 5, 2004 8:37 AM

Stupid comment or not (and it probably was), we all know we’d have loved to have seen the kiss. In that sense, it was a waste not to include it.

Posted by: Vixen at August 5, 2004 10:04 AM

Vixen, I feel sorry for that kiss not happening on behalf of all the men I know and a few women too.

Y’know it might have even helped the movie earn a few more millions of dollars if they actually did it :)
