Hi Shanti, I’d like to host the Mela. [Kribs stands in the queue]. What say?

Hi Shanti,
1st timer here..a few months old to blogging and didn’t know there was anything called “Blog-mela” 15 mins. ago. Its a nice blog you have here…I will have to come back soon! ;)

You should visit us again, Nupur - blog Mela is lots of fun :)

Um. what exactly is a blog Mela?
while I am tempted to assume it is the bloggers’ equivalent of woodstock, I suspect that I do now know enough about either subject to draw any analogies.

Curiously,
avinash.

Avinash, every week one Indian blogger hosts the blog mela which means he/she takes in nominations for the best India-related posts of the week and present them to the readers. The idea is to showcase the best posts from the Indian side of the blogosphere while giving blog-readers a sampling of blogs they might not have heard of before.

Check this post by Prasenjeet - for an example Mela. Would you like to host?

ah.
interesting idea…will volunteer to host, in a week or two. does that sound suspiciously vague? :) proof one way or the other, in a week or two.

Incidentally, I’ve always wondered why there hasn’t been an online collaboration of bloggers who can come together and write a book online. a book is a mega-sized blog anyway, in a lot of respects.
:) I can help write fairy tales, if anyone is interested. (http://www.sulekha.com/expressions/articledesc.asp?cid=306718)

Hi Shanti, I’m back again. Please put me in the queue for the mela hosting. Any date is fine with me. Surely. :-)

Posted by: Nilesh at January 22, 2005 6:41 AM

I have a suggestion for mela hosts. Ask for all nominations to be submitted as comments to your nominations post. That way, for whatever reason if the host does not select a post for the mela, the post is there in the nominations section for all to look.

Shanti, can you sign me up for sometime in April?

I’ve posted the announcement!

I could have been Taj Mahal. :beam:

I could have been Bill Lear.

Unfortunately for all who know me, I’m me.

Feels fine, really….
