Dash! I just watched him on Hulchul recently and was astonished by the sheer presence he still managed to bring into his roles.

The true achievements of an actor is that his/her screen image prevails in the mind of the viewers/fans. Amrish Puri did a lot of negative roles althrough his career and people immediately could relate him to a nasty villain whenever he entered in a scene. His image was well used in Hollywood too (Indiana Jones and the temple of the doom et al.). He was versatile in other roles too!

I believe he is (still is until someone takes over) one of the icons of Bollywood. R.I.P. Amrish Puri. Mugambo khush nehi hoa.

“Presence” is definitely what I would call the way he was on screen. He took over every scene he was in and his booming voice just sent chills down your spine. We will surely miss him.
