No gay male adoption?

Here is an interesting thought - doesn’t Peggy Drexler’s conclusion pretty much make the conservative fundamentalists’ argument against adoption by gay males?

Conservative and Liberal Fundamentalists are basically mirror images of each other.

At a deeper level they reinforce each other.

When Peggy Drexler can not tolerate one dad’s presence, then how can she tolerate 2 gay dads ?

because gays are supposed to be more sensitive?

now isn’t that (sensitivity) a stereotype too? :nice:

Nope - because gays are men first and foremost and apparently Drexler thinks distant male role models are better for kids than dad-role models.

I wonder why you thought I was going for the sensitivity stereotype (atleast related to drexler)…:tongue3:

what about a child who grows up without a dad? isnt it that countering Shanti’s statement?

Gay males should be able to adopt, just as well as straight couples. I understand that the child would grow up with two dad’s, but that is much better than not having any parents at all. The child may go through tough times in school and in life, but that’s the world, and people are going to be ignorant no matter what. You can’t educate the whole world, it’s not our job.
